Fun place and yummy food! We got the Paw Paw Platter and the deep fried deviled eggs! Both were delicious. Also loved the hushpuppies! Staff were friendly and helpful as it was our first time there.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday in February and had a great experience. The server was really friendly and talkative. He gave us great service and also a few recommendations on what to do in the area. Great for a Swedish tourist! As for the food we started off with fried pickles (as a Swede I've never even heard of this before and it was a bit weird but I do recommend!) and then had a basket each. I had the shrimp basket and my husband went for the chicken tender basket. The shrimp was good and the sauce great. They marketed it as a homemade cocktail sauce and it was simply deliscious! The chicken tenders were cooked perfect and the seasoning gave a hint of spice, also delicious! We left full and satisfied even though we didn't finish the whole plate bc there was so much food. Thanks for a great Saturday lunch!

Ate lunch here. Service was great with the server being very attentive. We try the deep fried deviled eggs which were okay but since my regular deviled eggs are very good we weren’t fans but they were worth trying. The crust was yummy. We ordered Paw Paws platter that had 3 fried shrimp/3 fried catfish/french fries/pinto beans/hush puppies/slightly spicy coleslaw 14.99. There was a constant flow of customers coming in and others coming in for “to go orders.” I recommend this eating establishment.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while at a dance competition in Bastrop and wow, what I find. Started with something I have never heard of or had before, deep fried deviled eggs served with a side of ranch dressing. They were fabulous. Had catfish and shrimp basket and it was wonderful. Couldn’t pass up the banana pudding and it did not disappoint. Service was great and efficient.

Wonderful restaurant with great food, service & reasonable prices. They have delicious catfish, hush puppies and excellent onion rings. In fact all their side dishes are great. If you love catfish, you have got to try this awesome gem of a restaurant in cute town of Bastrop. This is the best catfish I have ever had. Will definitely be back.

Everything seasoned Perfect and melts in your mouth!!!! Catfish extremely tender ..... shrimp was as big as the palm of my hand .... tartar was the best I have ever had ..... the onion rings were golden and crispy and not over cooked ..... giant size sweet bottomless sweet tea Best Catfish place in the state!!! Will definitely be back and we live 2 hours away I believe their PawPaw is very PROUD!!!!!!

Was passing through with my brother and we wanted to try a new place. Was Not disappointed with Paw Paws. Parked around the corner and after a short walk down old Main Street we were there. Had fried deviled eggs for the first time and they were amazing. The catfish had the perfect flavor with the perfect crisp and not soggy at all. The sides were great too and we even had the banana pudding. Awesome food, friendly staff and a new favorite spot! Highly recommend!

5th visit & it's been 98% consistent. I think the portions have become smaller, meaning you're still going to leave full, just not stuffed or need a to go box like in the last few months. We generally visit on Sunday's & have always been seated right away. I have absolutely zero complaints about the food or service, both are . You can't go wrong here. Highly recommend the Catfish & Paw-Paw's Platters. Don't pass this place up.
